German police arrest ex-Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont on Danish border
German police today
captured Catalonia's formerpresident Carles Puigdemont as he traversed via auto from Denmark.Puigdemont "was
captured today at 11:19 am by Schleswig-Holstein's interstate watch
drive," aGerman police representative told AFP, including that the
confinement depended on an European warrant.
"He is presently in
police care", included thespokesman.Puigdemont's gathering representative
Anna Grabalosaalso independently affirmed that he was confined on landing in
Germany from Denmark.
"It occurred as he
crossed the Danish-German fringe. He was dealt with well and every one of his
legal advisors are there. That is everything I can state," she said.
Puigdemont is needed by Spain on charges of "defiance" and
"dissidence", over his freedom offer for Catalan.
He had been going to
Finland since Thursday, yet slipped out of the Nordic nation before Finnish
